How to Build a Culture of Resilience Into Your Business

I’m always doing research to find out how businesses and individuals are using my TRIP system without even knowing it. This past weekend I found an article at Positive Psychology that added to my list of ideas.

You might have noticed in this blog that I focus on tenacity, resilience, imagination, and purpose and as such have used this space to help others find these character traits and use them effectively.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the global community to look at how we could become masters of resilience. With non-productive and insufferable lock-down's, intolerable masks, questionable jabs and loss of freedoms resilience had to rise to the surface of importance. Humanity had no other choice.

Resilience has that special quality which allows some to become stellar leaders giving confidence to those who follow their lead. This then enables them all to overcome the challenges they face to grow, profit, and advance their individual and business goals with style and grace.

Viewing yourself and your abilities in a positive light became paramount if you were to survive and thrive. In doing so, you had to also take care of yourself through exercise, good nutrition, recreation, and mindfulness. All done in an atmosphere of fear.

I recently gave a speech to an Organizational Development Group chapter, and I focused on how their tenet skills played an important role in leading the way with resilience. Being organized gave them a leg up on “process” which led to resilient outcome.

My readers here have learned that using relaxation techniques to calm the fevered brow were wonderfully useful over the past two years because they found out that burning scented candles, soft music, short walks, and meditation strengthened their resilience while making it more pleasant and endurable.

Above all, it was taking decisive action to move you forward to your “realistic” goals that proved to be the most effective because you saw your ideas become reality in a time when it was difficult just to get out of your pajamas for a Zoom call. Being strong and aggressive in your leadership and goals set high expectations that others needed to be resilient themselves.

Building all of these ideas into the culture of your business is only good business sense. You and your team will have a happier and more productive atmosphere to which you will look forward to working in each day. They will also provide you with answers to your hiring and retention issues.

Lastly, my TRIP Technique ™ Assessment will help you score your team to find their strengths and weaknesses in each of the character traits so you can effectively train new members while invigorating existing ones with new vitality.

Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime.

In the end, it’s just one man’s opinion…mine!

Teams using TRIP!
By Keith Renninson 07 Apr, 2023
This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!
Team building

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
