TRIP TIP #4

Hi this is Keith Renninson the Tenacity Expert and author of Tenacity you don’t have to get lost I Nepal to find yourself but it helps…I’m back  with blog # 4 on tenacity in my series of TRIP TIPS for better communication & leadership with your team and clients.  Remember that TRIP is an acronym for tenacity, resilience, imagination, and purpose.

So, let’s get started the title for this tip is: “Do you sometimes need to find an adventure or an escape from your life?”

In the past, when this feeling arose, did you follow through and escape?  If not, why?  When these feelings well-up in you, you need to pay attention to them.  Your body, mind and soul are trying to tell you something and you need to listen.  Being intuitive is hard.  Reading our feelings and understanding them is a learned skill, I urge you to take time to practice it.  You will quickly recognize it, it’s that little voice that’s beckoning you to change course, take time away, to let your true path be revealed.  Understanding “your own human condition” and learning how to read it are especially important tasks.

When I get restless and seek an escape or adventure it's often because I'm bored, don't want to face an issue that is staring me in the face or I’m finding myself at a crossroads in my life.  Boredom is easy to overcome, issues and crossroads won't be so quick to dismiss and move on from.  They will resolve only with solutions and actions and those will come when you do take some time off.

When I felt the need to travel back to Nepal, I was 48, just about the time mid-life crisis arises for many people.  Taking an adventure was both fun and necessary, and I knew it.  While there, many solutions and ideas for the rest of my life surfaced.  I was able to use that time to do a lot of soul-searching with gut wrenching reality checks.  Do you need to take a month and get lost in Nepal to get the same results?  No, but you do need to get away for an hour, a day or longer to think, meditate, pray and take a good hard look at yourself, your business and how you run it.

You will not believe the freedom this unleashes!  You will make decisions better, be more creative and guide tenaciously your team and clients with clarity!  Plus, you will become a much happier person in the process.

As always, thank you for reading!  Please use the contact us button above if you need more information on hiring me to speak at your company or association meeting virtual or live.

Remember don’t take a trip of a lifetime, take a TRIP for a lifetime!

Have a great day!

Teams using TRIP!
By Keith Renninson 07 Apr, 2023
This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!
Team building

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
