In the TRIP Technique Assessment™, What are Passive, Active & Super-Active?

It dawned on me in the middle of the night that for those of you who haven’t taken my TRIP Technique Assessment ™ might not know how you get scored, so let’s discuss the program and how you can use it.

When I had a moment of innovation last summer the Assessment idea was conceived. It took the next three months working with a professional in the industry to scientifically develop the questions, the scoring algorithm, and post exam suggested practices to improve your score. The six answers from “strongly disagree to strongly agree” give each test taker the ability to relate their feelings about the question as closely as possible.

We tried to give definitions to each word in TRIP that would be easily understood:

  • TENACITY: The ability to keep on trying & pushing forward even when outcomes are uncertain
  • RESILIENCE: The ability to bounce back & get stronger through life's peaks and valleys
  • IMAGINATION: The ability to be creative and resourceful even in difficult times
  • PURPOSE: Knowing the "why and how" of your life and how to apply it daily.

We struggled on what to name the three levels of results and after much discussion passive, active and super-active were settled upon. They really do give an accurate description of the levels by illustrating how each participant viewed the questions.  By keeping it simple and only having these three indicators you will be able to see your positioning easily and more importantly see quickly how you can incorporate them into your life. Let's explain them this way:

·      PASSIVE: You have the ability to use this character trait, but you never or rarely do.

·      ACTIVE: You have the ability and skills to use this character trait, but only use it occasionally.

·      SUPER-ACTIVE: You have the ability, mindset & skills to use this character trait and use it often very effectively.

When you are strong in T.R.I.P., across all four elements, you are able to:

  • Perform at your peak
  • Tackle any challenge that comes your way with more ease and less stress
  • Create success across your work and personal life
  • Stand out as a valuable partner to your team and clients
  • Differentiate yourself in your marketplace

If you’ve thought of taking our Assessment, I would encourage you to do so to elevate your communication, leadership and relationship skills. We do have group or association rates and include the assessment in my speaking contracts.

Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!

Any way you look at it, it’s just one man’s opinion…mine!

Teams using TRIP!
By Keith Renninson 07 Apr, 2023
This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
