How to Find Happiness Alone

 

One of the benefits of focusing on TRIP (tenacity, resilience, imagination, and purpose) is that your happiness evolves to a higher level. We look at what we do in life more critically to make sure that it brings us joy rather than difficulty.


Bringing your daily thoughts in line with TRIP allows you to see opportunities where you can apply its principles. There is a spiritual energy surrounding the ability to slow down with meditation that takes your imagination to a more eloquent and creative space. We create more synapses in the brain to function better and make us more productive.


Happiness comes to us in many forms through releasing worry.  Worry is counter-productive because we focus on what might happen. By letting go of it during meditation we see the possibilities of new paths, new ideas and directions. Then our imagination kicks in by supplying ways to make them fulfilled. All of this is done to give you the guidance and support you are looking for. Mediation slows your brain down, eliminates chaos, returns focus, and thus makes you happier in the moment. 


I was guest speaker on a podcast this morning with a young lady in Kiev Ukraine and at one point I said that "I love being a happy guy". I don’t know that I’ve ever said that out loud. But when we were done, I sat thinking about the interview and I suddenly realized that I AM a happy guy almost all the time. Have I always been that way and haven’t thought about it much? I think so. It’s my personality to be jovial and in my nature to look for people who are happy too.


With my recent skiing accident there were days when I woke up feeling a little sorry for myself. After several weeks stuck in my home unable to drive, walk easily and work it was probably only natural to have some down moments, but I used my imagination to lift my spirits by making marketing phone calls, drafting my next newsletter article and working with my virtual assistant Wendy.


There are always ways to change your mindset, but you must focus on something like TRIP to help you get there, to raise your vibration from sullen to happy. It also helps if you can laugh at yourself in the process. There were so many quirky things that have happened over the past few weeks that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at something I did. 


Writing these things down in my journal helped me. I could see them as what they were, something that I had to overcome and build on to get back to a normal life. Use your imagination to help you find ways to elevate your happiness and bring life into focus once again. Clarity has a way of making life more understandable and desirable.


By using TRIP daily and making it a habit you will find that you are a happier more productive person ready for adventure of freedom, fulfillment, and fun!


Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!

Teams using TRIP!

This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
