What is a Life TRIP?

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ve probably noticed my closing line: “Take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!” I’ve had several compliments on it because for those who live the TRIP lifestyle it is meaningful.

My registered trademark is “Life TRIP International®” that was designed by a business consultant I used five years ago. We spent four days together refining my business plan, logo, company name revision, and marketing, all for my speaking business.

Out of it came a lifestyle philosophy that if followed closely can elevate your personal and professional image and production over time. The TRIP philosophy is meant to help you focus on the four characteristics of tenacity, resilience, imagination, and purpose.

If you’ve taken my TRIP Technique Assessment you’ve found out how you scored in each character trait. Then using my follow up video emails you can then lay out a game plan to raise your score and improve your life overall.

Self-awareness borders on the spiritual for me. Once you are aware that there is something bigger than us that giving us guidance, you also come to the understanding that we all create our own reality with our thoughts and imaginations. Before there was a pencil, it was a thought. Before there was a cookbook, it was a thought…everything is the result of thoughts.

To be good at thinking, we need to have tenacity to pursue a thought to it’s ultimate conclusion and to be resilient when we hit a failure on the way to success. That could be said for an invention or a new relationship.  It takes time. It takes focus. It must be something you desire enough to take on the title of purpose.

Taking a TRIP for a lifetime doesn’t mean that you have to commit to a strenuous regime of discipline and action, but it does mean that you need to keep the philosophy in the back of your mind and live it daily. It’s not hard once you’ve started and gets easier as time goes by.

It has become a game with me. If I have something I want, I become tenacious right off the bat. That makes me smile, I feel my energy grow quickly around the project of getting that special thing. I immediately lay out an initial game plan, see the steps I want to take to keep my enthusiasm up and see small successes happening. And, before you know it I have a project that I can sink my teeth into and have fun.

Give it a try, build a lifestyle around TRIP, share it with others, even buy a new baseball cap…yup, that was a new project for me and they are for sale on my website here.

Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime!

In the end, it’s just one man’s opinion…mine.

Teams using TRIP!
By Keith Renninson 07 Apr, 2023
This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!
Team building

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
