Hi, this is Keith Renninson “The Tenacity Expert” professional speaker & author of “Tenacity, You Don’t Have to Get Lost in Nepal to Find Yourself, But it Helps!” with my next installment of my TRIP Tips for the financial services professional.

Remember that TRIP is an acronym for TENACITY, RESILIENCE, IMAGINATION, AND PURPOSE.

So, let’s get started!

You are unique in your own special way.  Use it to make your project different, and to allow you stand out from the crowd.  We all love to hear our name called out, don’t we?  We also love many aspects of ourselves and by embracing those unique qualities stir our energy and enthusiasm.  Your best qualities come out when you are excited and positive about what you are doing.  It helps us find and implement our leadership skills because we are confident and self-assured.

Being unique should come as second nature to you.  Copying someone else should feel awkward and uneasy.  It's just not you.  Finding out how to love yourself and your ways to shine is often hard.  We can see only the negatives about ourselves and are overly critical in how we interact with others.  Give yourself the opportunity to try different ways to be you, find the ones that you’re comfortable with, that make you happy and make you shine!  Will you always please everyone?  No.  And that's okay.  Even the most popular kids in school cannot please everyone.

Being unique can make you feel uneasy, like you are different from everyone else.  It takes a while to get comfortable with, but be tenacious, and you will soon find you like it.  Honor being different and it will give you strength and confidence.

Not being like every other planner will allow you to stand out in an already full room.  You can do this with how you dress, how you speak, how you hold your posture and how you deliver your plans in interviews.  Join Toastmasters to learn how to speak to a crowd.  Wear a bow tie, snazzy high heels, crazy socks, unique glasses to spice things up and have fun.  But always do it with class and quality.  Above all, know your stuff, know your niche.  There’s nothing better than a smart person who can back up their ideas & what they say with facts and figures.

Well, that’s it for this installment, I hope you have some new ideas on how to proceed.

Remember to take a TRIP for a lifetime, not a trip of a lifetime.

See you next time, and in the meantime be unique!

Teams using TRIP!
By Keith Renninson 07 Apr, 2023
This is the second in a series of four on team building with TRIP. Remember, in my last blog I shared that it would be performed in reverse with “purpose” first and now we will implement the “imagination” section. Imagination is probably the most fun of the character traits of TRIP. I love it because I can immerse myself in creativity and play!
Team building

How can TRIP help with team building you ask? By using it backwards! Huh? Yup, we will start with “Purpose” instead of Tenacity. The series will move from purpose to imagination, to resilience, and lastly to tenacity. When you look at TRIP from this reverse perspective it becomes clear that it flows naturally in team building and task completion. As with any project you must know your purpose first, so that’s where we will start.
